Used a bit of flash on the back of her shoulder (you can see it in the face). Not significant, but adds a bit of depth. Still developing my flash skills, and this was a good place to start. I like the Zamboni in the background as well.
Double axel!

Chef Ensan Wong and Tostones con Queso

10.20.08 - Cambridge, Mass. - Chef Ensan Wong, whose father is Nicaruguan and mother is Chinese, combines both influences in his dishes at Redline in Cambridge. Here he shows off his Tostones con Queso recipe.

Vests!

10.20.08 - Cambridge, Mass. - Fashion section needed some photos of vests for a feature on how they are back "in." Here are photos of freelance designer Jonathan Plazonja modeling his vest in Cambridge. Jonathan wasn't a model, but I think he may have a career in it.

Bricks.
Downtown.
More downtown.
Office, actually.

972nd Troops Come Home

10.19.08 - Boston, Mass. - The 972nd Military Police Unit of the Massachusetts National Guard returned home in July, but were formally welcomed back on Sunday, Oct. 19 at Faneuil Hall in downtown Boston. Lots of happy moments, John Kerry spoke, etc.

No, it's not a Child of Light; it is an over-exposed white shirt in some nice light. An "almost moment."
Each child was given an award for having their parents deployed. Pretty cool; jealous I never got one.
Senator...
More fun with light.
More moments.

Auctioneer Ed Smith

10.16.08 - Quincy, Mass. - Portraits of Ed Smith, an auctioneer in Quincy. Ed and his family auction restaurant supplies and have not seen a slump in business despite a slowing economy.

Mixed Martial Arts in Plymouth

10.11.08 - Plymouth, Mass. - Some Mixed Martial Arts at the JunglePlex in Plymouth. Intense, very intense. I followed heavyweight Eric Foley around for the evening, moonlights as a K-9 officer in Plymouth (or is it vice versa?). The biggest challenge was the chain link fence around the octagon. Without an up position, I spent my evening trying to wedge my 28mm lens through one of the holes. Worked out pretty well.

Waiting to fight
Eric post-fight (there is a bit of blood running down his nose, but I don't think he noticed)
Eric Foley, les champion!
Eric's trainer watches through the fence.
Eric delivers a blow.
Another fight.

Emerson celebrates Obama victory

11.04.08 - Boston, Mass. - Working for the Herald on election night, my job was to troll for students rioting/partying. Luckily around 11 p.m. the flood gates opened and Emerson let all of their prisoners...errr...students out and I got a few photos. Not pretty, but happy for sure. My favorite is the girl dancing with the Obama sign.
