Cameroon v Cape Vert

5.31.08 - Yaounde - A few shots from the soccer match. Samuel Eto'o sealed the win over Cape Vert by converting penalty kick in the 70thish minute. The funniest parts of the game was clapping to "If you're happy and you know it" (played by the band, yes there was a band) and the people selling plastic bags of whiskey in the stands. It was packed and the stadium is on a hill over looking the whole city. I wish my photos could do it justice, but hopefully these will convey some of the awesomeness.

African wedding

5.31.08 - Yaounde - Experienced my first African wedding today. Very low key, Islamic, at the Justice of the Peace, etc. etc., but still excellent. Saturday is the day for weddings in Yaounde so all across town people were honking horns in jubilation. After the wedding we popped over to the grooms, head of protocol at the European Commission's house for food...and it was great. Here are a few shots.

London

5.30.08 - London - Leah and I spent the last three/four days in London, tooling around and meeting Living Earth people. On Tuesday we got up very, very early (actually only and hour earlier than expected at 7:45am) and went to Bristol Zoo to learn about the wildlife end of the project. It was a jaunt, but awesome. We got to see some gorillas and see the British country side on our two hour long train ride.

The last two evenings we've hung out with Rob, Leah's friend from home who works for the Discovery Channel. Here are a few pictures from us talking and having some beers on the Thames. Also, below are the results from my great laundry experiment. Not sure if my clothes are clean, but Leah definitely tried to teach me how to wash my clothes in a sink. It's a lot harder/taxing than I'd imagined. As a result I think I'll be wearing my clothes a good deal longer from now on, a least until I get laundromat land.

5.22.08 - Standard afternoon at the ballpark (no perfect games/no-nos), but I think I got something out of it. Here are the best.

No-no

5.19.08 - Red Sox pitcher Jon Lester threw the 18th no-hitter in Sox history tonight at Fenway Park. Perhaps more impressively Jason Varitek caught his major league record fourth (2001- Nomo, 2002- Lowe, 2007- Bucholz and Lester). It was magical. Actually, it was surprising Mike and I were completely out of it and I didn't realize what was happening until the bottom of the seventh. Kid pitched lights out. Also, that makes it one graduation, a perfect game and a no-no in one week. Pretty action-packed if you ask me.

5.18.08 - There was so much food. Everywhere. Including a tire size tupperware full of a seafood salad. All very good. Here Ben is getting some of it. We sat around telling stories and eating. Pretty much so the best thing to do after sitting and hearing 500 names called out in alphabetical order.

5.18.08- Graduated. It was cool. The below pictures are evidence of the fact that I sat next to Dom. He probably took more pictures, but I was going for quality.... Anyway, it was fun and now I have a degree.

Perfect Game/Day at Thayer

5.14.08- Congrats to Thayer Academy who bested Roxbury Latin, 1-0 in an epic pitchers duel on Wednesday. I had the pleasure of weathering two hours of traffic to see the hour long game. Kyle McKenzie threw a perfect game with MLB scouts on hand and had 14 Ks. A sac fly by Tigers' catcher Rich McHugh broke the deadlock with one out in the seventh and sent Ryan Urso home from third. Below are a few shots.

A Walk in the Park at Fenway

5.11.08- Apparently, if you're from New England and love your mom you take her to Fenway on Mothers' Day to walk around the warning track and see the World Series trophy. Probably wouldn't have flown in my house, but my mom did say that if we had gone to Sanford Stadium to see Uga and Herschel's Heisman (my parents are UGA grads, Go Dawgs!) it would've been pretty cool, too. I guess there's an equivalent in every culture.

My roommate Hank wanted some photos to send his mom for Mother's Day. He's a HUGE Brooks Brothers aficianado. We tried a few things and broke every lamp in the apartment trying to do the lighting (set up below). It was cool and probably the best thing to do the day after I finished college. Check out some of the best below.

New Website, etc.

I added this picture from the GSU TEAM retreat  because it's on the front of my new website: willnunnallyphotography.com. You may not believe it but right behind that line of trees is the Mass Pike. The TEAMmates are organizing a game of capture the flag, I think. I was performing duties as TEAM photographer and using that as an excuse not to play capture the flag.

Thanks to everyone who responded to my request for website editing. Still not entirely sure what I'm doing or if I really learned html, but it's certainly a start. Keep the comments coming.
