Northeastern v. Providence College

01.24.09 - The No. 3 Northeastern Huskies played host to Hockey East bottom dwellers, Providence College. After a knock-down-drag-out first period, Northeastern weathered the storm and won 6-3, sweeping the Friars in the weekend series.

Jogging along the Charles (River Reservoir)

01.23.09 - Chestnut Hill, Mass. - Dropping Dom off at BC for a basketball game, I saw a woman and a cross country skier run along the top tier of the Charles River Reservoir. Looked cool, so on the way back I set my trap and waited for a runner to come by. Didn't quite work out the way I wanted it to (read: no legs, no good), but I like the idea and of course, the layers.

Popeye turns 80

01.17.09 - Watertown, Mass. - I met Popeye expert Fred Grandinetti at his home in Watertown for a portrait on Saturday. The cartoon is turning 80 and everyone wants a quote from Fred. Turned out to be a fairly common photo of him, but I think its the best environmental portrait of the year.

P.S. - Forgot to post for two months. I know you've been waiting with bated breath for my next act following Thanksgiving and I apologize for keeping you on the edge. Perhaps my New Years resolution should have been to keep up with the blog. C'est la vie. 

 

Boston Blazers v. New York Titans

01.17.09 - Boston, Mass. - The Boston Blazers made their much-awaited debut at the TD Banknorth Garden against northeast rival the New York Titans. They were unable to recover from a slow start and dropped the second straight, 13-9. Definitely a crazy, fast game. Hopefully, I'll get to shoot it again soon.

01.14.09 - Boston, Mass. - Late in the afternoon on Wednesday I received a call to go find an iconic photo of Simmons College for the Wall Street Journal. Never found it in print or online, but this is what I came up with.

01.11.09 - Boston, Mass. - I shot two food assignments about cheap Sunday prix fixe menus at T.W. Food in Cambridge and Sage in the South End.
