Camping

06.08.13 - Plymouth, Wisconsin - Camping has become an essential part of my summers since I went to Boston University. In part because I feel a need to flee my urban environment and "get away from it all". Also because I'm addicted to REI and somehow I have to justify dropping my hard earned cash on titanium backpacking pots.

The last two summers I've got up with Jonathan, Andy and Nelson (and friends) to Kettle Moraine State Park near Plymouth, Wisconsin. It's pretty, low key and given our foodie tendencies the food we make is pretty off the chain.

Best,

Will

May - Shooting from the Hip

05.01.13 - Chicago, Illinois - After the wedding things were a little slow around here as the flowers started to pop up and Spring finally sprung. Below is a little of what I saw walking around Chicago, camera in tow.

Lets just say being Miss Heart of Illinois is not nearly as glamorous as it sounds.

Pablo and Mira's Wedding

04.07.13 - Evanston, Illinois - Pablo and Mira got married in a small backyard ceremony with friends and family. You'll probably remember them from an engagement photos posting a while back. Fortunately the weather was much warmer that Sunday and we were able to be outside. Afterwards we shot some photos around Northwestern University's campus, at least as much as we could stand in the 50F weather.

LA Live

04.14.13 - Los Angeles, Ca-li-for-n-ia - Yes, dear reader, there were many days when I felt as if I was the last person on the planet who hadn't been to California. Or the last to dip his feet in the Pacific Ocean and utter the words "dude, bro that's f-ing cold" unironically.

Well fear not, Eunice and I headed west, unlike our forefathers, to attend the wedded matrimony of our friends Ben and Anna. Besides catching up with old friends under the largest lemon tree in the world, we hit the town and saw the sights. Below is some of the evidence of me trying in vein to capture that light that makes all our movies and TV commercials look so damn beautiful.

Engagement Session - Pablo and Mira

03.02.13 - Evanston, Illinois - Wedding season is finally upon me and that means engagement photos! I am shooting Pablo and Mira's wedding next month and met them on Northwestern University's campus for a short photo shoot (there's only so much photo taking most people can stand in 30 degree weather!). We took a stroll along the lake and scouted some spots for wedding portraits. Even in Chicago it's not every day you get to shoot with a clean 5 inches of snow on the ground, so we had fun and I tried to use that wintry landscape to my advantage.

Cheers,

Will

Wedding Portfolio Update

11.24.12 - Chicago, Illinois - I updated my wedding portfolio over the Thanksgiving weekend with some recent work from the summer and fall. I did a lot of work over the summer between shooting my own weddings, attending friends' and second shooting for Jason Brown. It's awesome to see how everyone celebrates a little differently and each wedding reflects the couples' personality.

I'm definitely excited for the upcoming season.

Cheers,

Will
