Red Sox v. Rays

9.8.08 - Boston, Mass. - The Red Sox began a three game series with the Tampa Bay Rays at Fenway with a dominating 4-0 win against the division leaders. Unfortunately, they dropped a one-run game the following night and a 14 inning grinder to lose the series 2-1 and drop to 2.5 games behind the Rays. Not all is lost though, for sure, as there is still a lot of baseball be played, including another three game series with the Rays. Below are the pictures.

Papelbon celebrates getting the save. 15 out of the 17 pitches he threw to get four outs were fastballs.

Dick Vitale, Rays fan, and manager Joe Maddon NOT impressed. After the Rays left two runners in scoring position on the bases in the eighth. The Sox fans were pretty happy though...
Papi strikes out.
Dustin Pedroia hits a fly ball in the eighth.
Jon Lester left the game to a standing ovation after 7 and 2/3rds innings pitched of no-run baseball.
Coco Crisp thrown out at second in the eighth.
