Daniel Seddiqui scouts for the Rox

08.03.09 - Brockton, Mass. - I shot Daniel Seddiqui (green shirt), who is learning how to be a baseball scout for the Brockton Rox as part of his 50 jobs in 50 states in 50 weeks. Seddiqui has held down employment over the past year, traveling between states doing work that reflects their histories. For example, he was a coal miner in West Virginia and a peanut farmer in Georgia.

Victory and Defeat - Eastern Mass Girls Basketball Championship

03.09.09 - Boston, Mass. - The Eastern Massachusetts Girls Basketball State Championships took place at the TD Banknorth Garden. All four divisions competed and the excitement was palpable. Four victories and four defeats made for some good photos.

High School Basketball

01.08.09 - Various spots, Mass. - For whatever reason, I shot four high school basketball games in three days this week, three of them girls. Nothing wrong with it, just odd. I also managed to get locked out of my car in Whitman, Mass. after a game (I don't know where it is either but mad props to the Whitman fireman who saved me). All were good games, as far as I can tell. Below are the images.

Northeastern Football Media Day

08.05.08 - Brookline, Mass. - Hooray, College Football! For some reason the sport has yet to grow legs here, but for a Southern boy there are few more exciting days than the first day of football practice. Luckily, I wasn't practicing, but I was shooting an assignment for the Patriot Ledger, who is following five players from Brockton High School who play together at Northeastern. Great day; nice people; the season couldn't have started better.

Best,

Will

The long snappers warm up. I used to do this drill before every practice, so I guess this is more for nostalgia than anything else.
